Logistics is the term widely used in Business for the range of activities associated with the movement, storage, and handling of materials. The subject discipline has come to be regarded as a key determinant of business competitiveness.
As per the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index 2010, India is placed at forty seventh position out of 155 countries. However, poor training and lack of qualified and experienced resources continue to be a primary challenge facing the development of the Logistics and Transportation industry in India today.

Companies are outsourcing Logistics & Supply Chain Management activities or a part of it to Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers to derive cost and time efficiencies. Majority of the manpower available in the Indian Logistics sector lacks critical domain skills. There is a lack of specialized knowledge of practices, and most workers have basic in-house experience-driven skills with no formal infrastructure to impart skills. Thus, Gati Intellect aims to fill in this gap through its operational expertise in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) domains.
